By using the Correct Me Service at trycorrectme.com, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and consent to its terms. This policy describes what data we handle, how it is used, and the clear boundaries of our responsibility.

1. Data We Collect

When you use the Service, we automatically create an anonymous session identifier for your browser. This identifier is used to track your usage of the free tier (number of requests made per day) and to maintain your session. It is stored both in your browser and in Firebase (Google), our cloud infrastructure provider.

We also collect the following technical information at the time of your first visit: your approximate country of origin (derived from your IP address at the time of the request — we do not store the IP address itself), your browser language preference, and the platform you are using (web). This information helps us understand our user base and improve the Service.

We collect usage statistics including the number of requests you make (grammar checks, rephrases, translations) and aggregate character counts. These are associated with your anonymous session identifier and stored on our servers.

If you subscribe to the Pro plan, we also collect and store your email address, which is provided to us by our payment processor upon successful purchase. We use this solely to manage your subscription and to send you a sign-in link when you access your account.

2. Payments

Payment processing for Pro subscriptions is handled entirely and exclusively by Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record. We do not receive, process, or store your payment card details at any point. All financial data you provide during checkout is governed solely by Lemon Squeezy's Privacy Policy, over which we have no control.

3. Analytics Cookies

We use Google Analytics to collect aggregated, anonymised usage statistics — such as page views, feature usage frequency, and approximate geographic region. Analytics cookies are only set with your explicit consent, which you can give or withdraw at any time via the cookie banner shown on your first visit. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google Analytics.

When analytics are enabled, data is collected and processed by Google under their own infrastructure and policies. We receive only aggregated, non-identifying reports. You can also opt out at any time via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Google's use of your data is governed exclusively by Google's Privacy Policy.

4. Text You Submit

Text you enter into the Service is transmitted over an encrypted HTTPS connection solely for the purpose of processing your request (grammar checking, rephrasing, or translation). We do not intercept, log, store, or retain your text at any point. Once your request is processed, the text is not retained in any storage on our infrastructure.

Text processing is performed via the OpenAI API. We are not a data controller or data processor with respect to your text inputs once they are transmitted to OpenAI. Any concerns about how your text is handled must be directed to OpenAI in accordance with OpenAI's Privacy Policy. We bear no responsibility or liability for OpenAI's data handling practices.

5. Data We May Receive If You Contact Us

If you contact us directly by email or other means, we may receive your name, email address, and the contents of your message. This information is used solely to respond to your inquiry and is not shared with third parties.

6. Data Security

Session data and usage statistics are stored in our secure cloud infrastructure with access controls in place. Your text inputs are not written to any persistent storage on our servers. Payment data never reaches our systems. The primary security responsibilities for payment data lie with Lemon Squeezy, and for text processing data with OpenAI.

7. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR, CCPA, and Similar)

If you are located in the EU or another jurisdiction with applicable data protection laws, you may have rights regarding the data we hold about you — including the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your data. Since session identifiers are anonymous and not linked to your identity unless you subscribe, the practical scope of these rights is limited for free-tier users. If you are a Pro subscriber and wish to exercise your rights regarding your email address or usage data, please contact us.

For data processed by third-party providers, requests must be directed to the relevant provider: to OpenAI for text processing data, to Lemon Squeezy for payment data, and to Google for analytics data.

8. Age Restriction

The Service is restricted to users aged 18 and over, as set out in our Terms of Use. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. Responsibility for ensuring only eligible users access the Service rests with the user.

9. No Responsibility for Third-Party Data Practices

This Privacy Policy applies only to data handling by Cheese Wheels Apps OU in connection with the Correct Me Service. It does not govern, and we expressly disclaim all responsibility for, the data practices of any third-party services including but not limited to OpenAI, Lemon Squeezy, Google Analytics, Google Fonts, or any other external service accessed as part of using the Service.

10. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time at our sole discretion. Any updated version is effective immediately upon being posted to this page. It is your responsibility to review this page periodically. Your continued use of the Service following any modification constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. If you do not agree with any change, your sole remedy is to cease using the Service.
