By using the Correct Me Service at trycorrectme.com, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and consent to its terms. This policy describes what data we handle, how it is used, and the clear boundaries of our responsibility.

1. Data We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, store, or process personal information such as your name, email address, date of birth, or any other personally identifiable information as part of normal Service operation. We have no user account system, no user profiles, and no database of user-submitted content. The Service is architected to operate without retaining any personal data on our servers.

Payment processing for Pro subscriptions is handled entirely and exclusively by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. We do not receive, process, or store your payment details at any point. All financial data you provide during checkout is governed solely by Paddle's Privacy Policy, over which we have no control.

2. Data We May Receive If You Contact Us

If you contact us directly by email or other means, we may receive your name, email address, and the contents of your message. This information is used solely to respond to your inquiry and is not shared with third parties.

3. Analytics Data

We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics — such as page views, feature usage frequency, and approximate geographic region (country level). This data is collected and processed by Google under their own privacy policy and infrastructure. We receive only aggregated, non-identifying reports. We do not control what data Google collects or how Google processes it; their use of your data is governed exclusively by Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

4. Text You Submit

Text you enter into the Service is transmitted directly to the OpenAI API over an encrypted HTTPS connection solely for the purpose of processing your request (grammar checking, rephrasing, or translation). We do not intercept, log, store, or retain your text at any point. Once your request is transmitted to OpenAI, it is entirely outside our control and infrastructure.

We are not a data controller or data processor with respect to your text inputs. OpenAI independently processes this data subject to their own policies. Any concerns about how your text is handled by OpenAI must be directed to OpenAI directly in accordance with OpenAI's Privacy Policy. We bear no responsibility or liability for OpenAI's data handling practices.

5. Local Storage

The Service stores a minimal amount of data in your browser's own local storage — specifically, your remaining free request count and your Pro subscription status. This data is stored entirely on your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party. You can clear this data at any time by clearing your browser's local storage or site data.

6. No Responsibility for Third-Party Data Practices

This Privacy Policy applies only to data handling by Cheese Wheels Apps OU in connection with the Correct Me Service. It does not govern, and we expressly disclaim all responsibility for, the data practices of any third-party services including but not limited to OpenAI, Paddle, Google Analytics, Google Fonts, or any other external service that may be accessed as part of using the Service. Each third party's use of your data is governed exclusively by that party's own privacy policy and terms.

7. Age Restriction — No Data Collected from Minors

The Service is restricted to users aged 18 and over, as set out in our Terms of Use. We do not knowingly target or solicit any personal information from minors. We have no technical means to verify user age, and we do not collect personal data in the course of normal Service use. Accordingly, we do not store personal data belonging to any user, minor or otherwise. Responsibility for ensuring that only eligible users access the Service rests entirely with the user. We bear no liability for access by any person who does not meet the age requirement.

8. Data Security

Because we do not collect or store personal data as part of normal Service operation, there is no personal data held by us that could be subject to a breach. Your text inputs pass through our infrastructure transiently and are not written to any storage. Payment data never reaches our systems. The primary security responsibilities for your data lie with the third-party services that process it — OpenAI and Paddle — each of whom operate their own security programmes.

9. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR, CCPA, and Similar)

Various privacy regulations — including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) — grant rights over personal data that a controller holds about you. Because we do not collect, store, or control personal data in the course of operating the Service, we do not hold personal data that would be subject to such requests.

If you have concerns about data processed by our third-party providers, those requests must be directed to the relevant provider: to OpenAI for text processing data, to Paddle for payment data, and to Google for analytics data. We are not in a position to fulfill data requests on behalf of third parties, nor do we bear responsibility for their compliance.

10. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time at our sole discretion. Any updated version is effective immediately upon being posted to this page. It is your responsibility to review this page periodically. Your continued use of the Service following any modification constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. If you do not agree with any change, your sole remedy is to cease using the Service.
